| Paul Dillan, Thanks for agreeing to do this interview. I was very impressed with your presentation on MySpace http://www.myspace.com/ottawa911. I copied this quote of your page "The concept is simple. A small group of people can and will change the course of history. It's happened in the past, and it'll happen again in the future. Join us on the 11th of every month, as we change history." I want you to know that I have no doubt that your right on the money with the way your approaching this and the way your talking about it. I just have a few questions for you. First, I'm sure after looking at your site that your involved in many remarkable stories of personal courage and triumph in regards to the battle that we're all facing on this. Can you share one of those inspirational stories with us for 9/11 Truther Cyberzine? |
Dillan In the last year, we've met many people and had many different reactions, but I have to say the best was the reaction we got out of one of the local news anchors here in town. It was winter and for 3 months we chose a local television station as the spot for our truthactions. Well the first month, this anchor approached us and was pretty friendly right up until finding out why we were there. After that, it was all business. By month 2 this anchor quickly changed composure when stepping out and having discs held out once again. By month 3 we received the fastest 'no thank you' we've ever heard and that anchor almost bolted to the car parking lot. I thought that was very telling. I wasn't sure we'd picked a good location until seeing that. During that same run we also had the weather guy from the station tell us he'd watched our disc from the month earlier. His exact words "I think you guys are onto something there". When I did my research on this guy later on, it turned out he'd done thousands of interviews including people like Bono, Madonna, and even royalty. Here I thought he was just a meteorologist :) I'm looking to follow up with him if we return to that location. I think if we had maintained our presence there, they would have covered us. It's kind of neat when you go out on these actions because you never know who you're going to meet or what's going to happen. You just have to jump in and do it to find out. The part I like the most is wondering just how many of those discs we've handed out end up being handed to others and spawning conversations. With this stuff, once you're exposed to it, you can't really forget that you heard it. We've definately opened a lot of minds here in Ottawa, and the truthaction.org campaign has opened a lot of minds worldwide. We've also found a lot of great activists each with their own talents. The videos and the signs are nothing compared to all the other work people are doing around town now. Radio shows, press conferences. We're representing in a big way and none of that is my doing. It's the focus and the drive that we all share and it's all falling into place. We even have a printing press helping us now, and we weren't even asking. It's great! |
| Paul Second, the topic of TV Fakery has been recently brought to my attention. It seems as though it's causing something a divide between some of the members of the 9/11 Truth Movement. The people proposing this "No Planes" theory appear to be pointing at the maximum possible speed of a 767 at 700 ft. and also some suspicious qualities of the video footage of the planes hitting the towers. I've spoken to some of the leaders of the Truth Movement about this and they tell me that they disagree with this hypothesis and that planes did hit the buildings. What's your take on this whole thing? |
| Dillan I've taken a look at the tv fakery claims, but I don't buy into it. We've taken a stance against it as a group, and we state this on our Wiki. Also, if you look at the people who are backing these fakery/no-planes stuff and the way they're acting towards other truth activists it just stinks. Luke Rudkowski's Saturday vigils at Ground Zero and the harassment he's having to deal with right now is evidence enough to me that it's meant to disrupt the truth movement, not help it. |
| Paul Third, what can we all do to support your efforts on this, Dillan? |
| Dillan What can people do to support our efforts? If you're here in the Ottawa area and truly want to help, come out and join us. If that's too intense for you right now, go out and buy a hundred blank DVDs. Walk up to us at our next action and hand them to us. That'll be 100 more people that you'll have personally reached with this information. We'll make sure the disks get burned and distributed. If you're not in our area and want to help the truth movement, then join us in the 11th of every month campaign. Post to the forum that your town will be representing on the next 11th, and on that day make sure you're out there. If you do that, people will come out and join you. It doesn't have to be as elaborate as what we're doing. You don't need a thousand photocopies and a bunch of DVDs to hand out. It can be as simple as writing something on a piece of cardboard with a black marker and standing in a public place. Go stand on a street corner with that sign and get a picture taken. Bring your sceptical friend that laughs at you each time you mention this stuff, and get him to take the photos or hold the camera. That's what I had to do at first. Post that pic to the truthaction forums and state that you'll be out there next month. At that time, make sure you're out there. You'll be amazed at how quickly people will spring up around you. The 9/11 Truth movement is well established here in Ottawa and there was nothing going on in April of 07. Now the local peace movement is reaching out to us. It took them a long time, but now they're finally seeing that we're both trying to accomplish the same goal. An end to these wars. |
Paul Thanks Dillan. |
